  • Message content — the text you enter in the contact form message field.

We do not collect payment information, location data, or browsing data beyond what is described in the analytics section below.

How we use your data

  • Your email address is used to send you The Ghost Letters newsletter — new book announcements, author updates, and exclusive content.
  • Your name and contact form message are used to respond to your inquiry.
  • We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties. Ever.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-preserving and does not use cookies or build advertising profiles. No cookie consent banner is required. Analytics data collected is aggregate only (pageviews, top pages, referrers, Web Vitals) and is not linked to individual identities.

Data processors

We use the following third-party services to operate this site:

  • MailerLite (newsletter platform) — stores your email address and manages newsletter sends. MailerLite Privacy Policy. MailerLite is GDPR-compliant and EU-US Data Privacy Framework certified.
  • Web3Forms (contact form routing) — receives and forwards contact form submissions to our email address. No data is stored permanently by Web3Forms. Web3Forms Privacy Policy.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Unsubscribe from The Ghost Letters at any time using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email.
  • Request deletion of your data by emailing hello@hazelsageauthor.com with the subject "Data deletion request." We will delete your data from our systems within 30 days.
  • Request a copy of the data we hold about you by emailing the address above.

Data retention

We retain your email address in our newsletter system until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Contact form submissions are retained in our email for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry, and are not stored in any third-party database after the initial delivery.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Changes will be noted with a new "last updated" date at the top of this page. We will not materially change how we use your data without notifying newsletter subscribers.
